New Partner V2 Update · Free

Your Partner V2 is now an AI ball machine that plays like a real opponent.

Rally is a major firmware and software update for the Tennibot Partner V2, for tennis and pickleball. Set your level and pick an opponent. The Partner moves around the court, feeding shots from where that player would hit: hard drives, sneaky lobs, or patient drops and resets.

What is Rally?

Rally is a mode in the Tennibot app that turns the Partner V2 ball machine into an opponent. You choose a named player with their own playing style and set them to your rating. The Partner then moves around the court and feeds the shots that player would hit, so you practice against a style instead of a fixed drill.

How it works

Three steps from ball machine to opponent.

Everything happens in the Tennibot app you already use. No new hardware, no setup.

  1. Rally skill level picker set to DUPR 3.5, solid club player
    1

    Set your level

Use the rating you already know: DUPR for pickleball, NTRP or UTR for tennis. Your level sets the pace, spin and shot variety.

  2. Tessa, The Dinker, selected in Rally showing pace, spin and tempo ratings
    2

    Pick your opponent

Each opponent has their own pace, spin and tempo. Choose a banger, a dinker, a lobber, a baseliner, an aggressor or a moonballer.

  3. Donald Young playing a point against the Partner V2
    3

    Play

Tap Start Rally. The Partner moves around the court, feeding shots from where your opponent would hit, for as long as you want.

Meet your opponents

Every opponent plays a different game.

Practice against the style that gives you trouble, as often as you want. It's the first time a ball machine plays with a style of its own.

Rally questions

Is there a ball machine that plays like a real opponent?

Yes. Rally turns the Tennibot Partner V2 into an opponent with a playing style. You pick a player, like a banger, a dinker or a baseliner, and the Partner moves around the court and feeds the shots that player would hit.

What is an AI ball machine?

An AI ball machine uses software to decide what to feed you, instead of firing the same shot over and over. The Tennibot Partner V2 moves around the court, and with Rally it plays like the opponent you choose.

How can I practice tennis alone?

A ball machine gives you hundreds of quality shots without needing a partner. Use drills to groove one stroke, then use Rally to practice against a baseliner, an aggressor or a moonballer, the styles you meet in matches.

How can I practice pickleball alone?

A pickleball machine lets you drill drives, drops and resets on your own. With Rally you can also practice against a banger, a dinker or a lobber, so you learn to handle each style before you see it in a game.

Which machines get Rally?

Rally works on the Tennibot Partner V2, for tennis and pickleball.

Does Rally cost anything?

No. Rally is a free update for every Partner V2 owner.

What ratings does Rally use?

DUPR for pickleball, and NTRP or UTR for tennis. Your rating sets the pace, spin and shot variety your opponent plays with.

How do I get Rally?

Update the Tennibot app, connect to your Partner V2 and tap Rally.

How is Rally different from a drill?

A drill is built around the shots you choose. In Rally you pick an opponent, and the Partner feeds shots from where that player would hit. Use drills to build a stroke and Rally to test it against a style.
